Terms & Conditions
Introduction
Welcome to Mayday Yoga. By booking a session, using my services, or accessing this website, you agree to these terms and conditions. If you have questions, reach out at marie@mnyoga.org.
1. Services Provided
Mayday Yoga offers:
-
Group TCTSY (Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga) sessions
-
Trauma-informed wellness talks
-
Workplace and organizational programs
Sessions run 30, 45, or 60 minutes, or a custom length by request, offered in person across the Twin Cities region or virtually through Zoom. No mat or prior yoga experience is required.
These services are offered to support nervous system regulation, workplace wellness, and self-care for people whose work regularly involves stress, trauma, or loss.
Mayday Yoga's services are not:
-
Therapy, counseling, or a form of medical or psychiatric treatment
-
Emergency or crisis intervention, if you're in crisis, call or text 988, call 911, or go to your nearest emergency room
-
A guarantee of any specific outcome
-
A requirement to disclose or discuss any personal trauma history, you decide what to share, if anything
2. Facilitator and Participant Relationship
My relationship with participants is professional. It exists during scheduled sessions and related communication about scheduling or your session.
I can't offer services where a conflict of interest exists, such as with close friends, family, or business associates. If that comes up, I'll help point you toward another option.
3. Scheduling
Sessions can be booked through Calendly or the contact form on my website. General availability is Saturdays 12 to 4pm and Mondays 12 to 3pm, with other times available by request. Workplace and organizational bookings are coordinated directly based on the group's needs.
4. Cancellation and Rescheduling
I ask for at least 48 hours notice to cancel or reschedule a confirmed session. For workplace or group bookings scheduled well in advance, I ask for as much notice as possible if plans change, ideally at least one week, so we can find a new time or adjust the agreement. If I need to cancel or reschedule, I'll let you know as soon as I can.
5. Fees and Payment
Group sessions (2 to 20 people) follow community pricing, so you can choose what fits your group's budget:
-
60 minutes: $90 to $140
-
45 minutes: $75 to $115
-
30 minutes: $60 to $90
A pay-what-you-can option is available anytime, for any reason, outside of these ranges. Workplace and organizational pricing is custom based on the scope of the engagement, with flexibility for budget. If you have a timeframe, group size, or price point not listed here, reach out and we'll figure out what works.
Payment is accepted by credit card, cash, check, or Venmo, and is due at the time of service unless another arrangement has been made in advance.
6. Confidentiality
Mayday Yoga is not a licensed therapy practice. Even so, what's shared in sessions is treated with care and discretion. For more detail, see the Privacy Policy.
7. Records
I don't keep session notes or attendance records for group sessions. If a participant chooses written consent over verbal consent before a session, that form is the only individual record kept, and it's kept private and only as long as needed.
8. Virtual Sessions
Sessions offered virtually take place over Zoom. For the best experience, join from a private space with a stable internet connection, using a device with a camera and microphone if you'd like to be seen, though that's always your choice. Technology issues can interrupt a session, and I'm not responsible for connectivity problems outside my control.
9. Not a Substitute for Crisis Support
Mayday Yoga does not provide crisis or emergency services. If you're experiencing a mental health emergency, please call or text 988 (Suicide and Crisis Lifeline), call 911, go to your nearest emergency room, or text HELLO to 741741 (Crisis Text Line).
10. Ending Services
You're welcome to stop working with Mayday Yoga at any time. I may also end a working relationship if payment issues go unresolved, if a program isn't serving the group's needs, or if someone engages in threatening or harassing behavior. Ending services doesn't cancel any payment already owed for services provided.
11. Limitations of Liability
I offer these services in good faith and in line with my training as a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT500) and certified TCTSY facilitator, but I can't guarantee specific outcomes. Somatic practices like TCTSY can bring up strong physical sensations or emotions, that's a normal part of the process, not a sign something is wrong. You're responsible for the choices you make during and after a session, and I'm not liable for actions taken by others based on anything shared in a session. Website content is offered for general information and isn't a substitute for medical or mental health care.
12. Consent to Participate
Mayday Yoga's services are offered to adults 18 and older only. By participating, you confirm that you're joining voluntarily, that you understand the practice is not therapy or medical treatment, and that you're free to move, rest, or opt out of any part of a session at any time. No explanation is required.
13. Professional Standards
I hold my RYT500 registration through Yoga Alliance and my TCTSY (Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga) certification through the Center for Trauma and Embodiment, and I follow the ethical standards that come with both. If you ever have a concern about a session or how Mayday Yoga operates, please bring it to me directly first. Concerns related specifically to my yoga certification can be directed to Yoga Alliance, and TCTSY-specific concerns to the Center for Trauma and Embodiment.
14. Intellectual Property
Website content, including text, images, and free resources like the Wellness at Work Yoga Miniseries, belongs to Mayday Yoga or is used with permission. These materials are for your personal use. Please don't reproduce, redistribute, or use them commercially without asking first, and please don't record or photograph a session without checking with me.
15. Disputes
If something's not working, I'd rather hear about it directly, most things can be sorted out through a conversation. These terms are governed by the laws of Minnesota, and any legal proceedings would take place in Hennepin County, Minnesota.
16. Changes to These Terms
I may update these terms as Mayday Yoga's practices, or the laws that apply to it, change. Updates will be posted here with a new "last updated" date. Continued use of Mayday Yoga's services after a change means you accept the current version.
